White Russians...with a twist

We did an experiment with White Russians and came up with a few fun variations of this classic drink.
Standard White Russian
White Cake Russian
Colorado Bulldog
Colorado Beerdog
Drunk Beaver

The hands down favorite was the Drunk Beaver.  The least favorite was the Colorado Beerdog.

Crockpot hotchata

Review by Lyndee

4 cups half and half
2 cups rumchata
1 cup cake vodka
1 bag andes mint chips

Mix all ingredients and cook in crockpot on low for 2 hours, stirring frequently.

I couldn’t find Andes mint chips at all three stores I checked. So I went with a different brand.  The only weird thing? They were green. So my drink was green. Which could be cool for Christmas or holiday parties but was a little weird for a random bbq on a Saturday afternoon.  Next time I would only use half a bag of the mint chocolate chips.  It was smooth and delicious but very rich!!! I added the vodka because, let’s face it, vodka makes everything better and it was national vodka day.

Rumchata & Salted Caramel

Review by Lyndee:

Do you like Rumchata? Salted Caramel? I know, silly question.  Who the heck doesn't?  My friend Jen brought us this combo for our housewarming party this weekend and it was awesome!

1 part Salted Caramel vodka
2 parts Rumchata

Chill on ice and serve as a shot.  Delicious!

Rumchata Cookie

So remember the delicious Rumchata Cupcakes we made a few weeks back?  Well, as the post stated, it made a LOT of frosting.  Of course, I can't waste anything because I'm part Hagebakke so after some thinking I came up with a brilliant idea...Rumchata Cookies!!  How do you make these little bites of heaven, you might be asking?  Um, it couldn't be easier.  It takes about 10 minutes.  If you have a favorite sugar cookie recipe, by all means, bust it out but I did the pouch by my buddy Betty Crocker.  Some butter and one egg later, we were on our way to sugar cookie high. I made these pretty small drop cookies.  A teaspoon size ball and they come out in great little silver dollar size.  I spread on the Rumchata frosting and it was like they were meant to be together all along.  Sweet, rich and so dang yummy.  Now, I need to go hide them so I don't eat them all.
