Sugar Berry Beer

Want to know how you can drink beer and get in a healthy dose of fruit? ;)

This is a great little drink recipe for those of you wanting to add a little something to that Bud Light to give it a refreshing, sweet taste.  This is even something for someone who doesn't like to drink beer because of the taste.  It takes away some of that bitter taste of beer.  If you like the bitter, then this recipe probably isn't for you.

Here's what you'll need:
  • 4 strawberries, chopped
  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons grenadine (or cherry-flavored liquor, cherry juice, or I've used vodka)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 (12-ounce) bottles beer, cold (recommended: Corona or any pilsner (i.e. Budweiser, Coors or light variations)
Here's what you'll do:
In a pitcher add the strawberries, blueberries, sugar, grenadine (or suggested liquid), and lime juice.  Stir to dissolve as much sugar as possible, it will be a thick mixture.  Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.  Then, stir some more to "agitate" and help create some more juice.

Here's how you'll serve:
Divide the mixture among two glasses (or red solo cups -- haha), and then pour a can/bottle of beer into each glass and give a gentle, little stirry-stir.
Or, do what I do, pour the beers right into the pitcher with the sugar-berry mixture and stir, and serve as one complete mixture of refreshing goodness!
