Windchime
Review by Lyndee:
There are many things that come to mind when I think of loved ones I have
lost but there are two people in particular that always come to mind when I see
butterflies or hear wind chimes. Every
time I hear a windchime blowing in a soft breeze I think of days spent at
Robert and Donna’s. Now, in the 3 years
since his passing, every time I hear that beautiful noise I think of Grandpa
Robert in heaven and that he is saying hello.
When I see a butterfly, I think of my cousin Kirk.
I’ve been keeping an eye out for a windchime I could turn into a
project recently. I found one the other
day at Dollar General. It was marked down to $3 but I didn’t realize until I checked
out that it was clearance more and was only 90 cents! Hello bargain, come home with me please! I bought the windchime which was a little
cheesy but I knew I could make it work.
I kept the dangling butterfly for Kirk and added a picture of Robert’s
4020 tractor parked in front of the church the morning of his funeral. This way, when I hear my windchimes I will be
able to think of both of them and smile.
It’s a priceless joy that cost me less than a dollar and took about 2
minutes to do.
Love it Lyndee! Thanks for the sensory-rich, soothing memories. Takes me right back to spring days on Grandma and Grandpa's front porch. It's good to be reminded that they're only as far away as the nearest memory. Thanks so much for providing us with that today!
