Old Electric Spool turned POKER TABLE!!

Electric spool number two was made into a poker table for my dad's shed.  He loved it and it was so simple!

Again, I coated a larger (table-sized) spool with polyurethane.  Two coats.  Once dry -- remember the TT123 sniff test (see FAMILY RULES spool table), I glued on a poker table topper.  You can find these online for around $20.
I glued the above poker table on using Elmer's Glue All Max.
Once I had placed the poker table top on the glue, I placed weights on top of everything and let it set for 48 hours.  After 48 hours, I had an instant poker table and a cherished Christmas gift for dad!

  1. That is a great idea! I never would have thought of taking an electric spool and adding a poker table top as a gift! Way to be creative!

  2. I've seen spools turned into rustic garden coffee tables and other flat top furniture, but I've never seen it done this way. This is definitely a cheaper alternative than starting from scratch with buying pieces of wood and building up from there. But I do have some other Ideas in mind if ever I'm going to try replicating this one out, like sewing of the edges or applying paint/varnish to the spool.
